With responses from 1,057 career-driven professionals across the country, TopResume's poll showed that 65% of professionals say getting a new job is among their biggest ambitions for the new year. However, less than half of these job seekers have a plan in place for accomplishing this goal.

“Not surprisingly, our recent survey revealed that 'finding a new job' ranked highest among New Year's resolutions, but it was insightful to see how few job candidates had steps in place for conducting their job search effectively,” said career advice expert Amanda Augustine for TopResume. “By diligently following a step-by-step plan, job goals can become a reality, and your next career move may be right around the corner.”

According to Augustine, landing your dream job starts with the right plan, which she summarizes in three steps:
